Sheila DeWitt, PhD – President & Acting CEO
 
Dr. Sheila DeWitt, President & Acting CEO of Deuteria Pharmaceuticals, Inc., is leading the advancement of deuterium-enriched drugs to improve the efficacy or side effect profile of marketed drugs or clinical candidates. With >20 years of business development and R&D experience in both pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies, including FMC, Parke-Davis, Diversomer Technologies, Orchid Biosciences, ArQule, and EPIX Pharmaceuticals, Sheila has successfully lead and managed organizations through start-up, M&A, restructuring, and alliances. Most recently, in her role as VP of Business Development, Discovery and Manufacturing at EPIX, Sheila successfully managed the $125M merger between EPIX and Predix Pharmaceuticals in 2006 as well as provided global leadership for programs from discovery through Phase 2. Prior to EPIX, Sheila led operations for Business Units at both Orchid and ArQule, resulting in achievement of milestones, profitability, and multiple mutually beneficial M&A initiatives. In addition to numerous publications, patents, and presentations, Sheila is internationally recognized as a scientific pioneer in combinatorial chemistry from the scientific contributions she made while at Parke-Davis and Diversomer Technologies (where she was founder and CSO). Sheila received her Ph.D. in Synthetic Chemistry from Duke University and B.A. in Chemistry from Cornell University.
